Text messages
Errand is a personal assistant you text, operated by Tiger Bachmeier LLC. This page explains how people start receiving texts from Errand, what they receive, and how to stop.
How people opt in
Errand only texts people who asked for it, in one of two ways:
- They text Errand's number first (for example "Hi" or a request). Their message is the request for a reply, and Errand answers that conversation.
- They join with an invite from an existing user, then send their first text to Errand's number.
Errand never texts phone numbers it was not contacted from, does not buy or import phone lists, and does not send marketing.
What Errand sends
Replies to what the person asked: answers, the price of something before they approve it, confirmations of orders and bookings they approved, and reminders they set themselves. Message frequency depends on how the person uses Errand; typically a few messages a day while they are using it.
Example: "Ready to order from Mug Shop: 1 x Blue Mug ($18.00). Total $23.48. Reply YES to buy or NO to cancel."
Stopping, and getting help
Reply STOP at any time to stop all texts from Errand. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
Phone numbers and messages are used only to provide the assistant and are never sold or shared for marketing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See the privacy policy and terms. Questions: thetiger@alumni.stanford.edu.
